Western Red Cedar also has the highest insulation resistance value of all roofing material. In 10 years or less your savings on heating and air conditioning will pay for the premium price of your real cedar roofing system.  Regardless of geographical location or climate condition a cedar shake roof will be as durable as it is beautiful. Cedar’s natural versatility makes it the ideal choice for your home.

Concerns regarding the impact of the production and use of building materials on the environment have grown. As a result, architects and builders have been promoting products that minimize pollution in the atmosphere and that are produced from renewable resources. Western Red Cedar meets both criteria.

The harvesting of Western Red Cedar and other species from the woods of British Columbia is performed in an environmentally conscious fashion to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment—promoting the re-growth of the forest and the diversity of trees within it.

Shake and Shingle production is practically pollution free. Waste generated from the Logging and Sawmilling Industries is refined to produce cedar shakes and shingles. Clearly, Western Red Cedar Shakes and Shingles are the optimum environmental choice!
